TAM Card or Alcohol Awareness Card?

We are often asked “what is the difference between an alcohol awareness card and a TAM Card”? The answer is simple. Both are alcohol awareness cards. The term “TAM Card” was used commonly in the 1970s-1990s in the Las Vegas area and in the 2010s was registered as a trademark by one company, TAM of Nevada, located in Las Vegas. Since TAM of Nevada registered the term “tam card” as a trademark only their company can print that term on their certification cards. Currently, the trademark “TAM Card” is valid and in full effect.

The State of Nevada law requires alcohol awareness cards, not “tam cards”. There is nothing that makes a TAM Card brand alcohol awareness card any superior as far as meeting the Nevada law requirements for alcohol awareness training.
